Let's Cluster

A scrapbooking term we often hear is clustering.  What does that mean?  Well a cluster is defined as "a group of similar things or people positioned or occurring closely together."

Let me show you some examples of clustering I've done on my layouts.

 

 In this grouping I've included opaque pearl swirls, stick pins, stickease from For Always, and banners cut from the zip strip and Lagoon paper from For Always. 

They sit on the bottom right corner of my layout as an eye catching "cluster" of embellishments. 

Here you can see I've used different paper flowers with glitter gems and brads for centres.  I've added some black tuille and a flat round embellishment from the lagoon assortment. 








Co-ordinating stickease and dimensional elements from your chosen paper package provide an easy jumping off point for clustering.  The flourish and pinwheel are from the Surf's Up assortment.  The wooden pieces are from the Wooden accents assortment.  Add some brown/tan sparkles and you're done.

And finally, a couple of pinwheel flowers from the co-ordinating Surf's Up assortment, with some wooden flourishes, flowers, and clothespin finished off with a bow tie complete this cluster.









Clustering is an effective way to add some punch, create visual interest, and add some texture to your layouts.
