Love Always

Love Always - isn't that a great title for this time of the year?  It's also the name of one of the 7 new paper packages available February 1, 2013 from Close to My Heart.

This paper package is wonderful in its' simplicity of black and white patterns.  You can pair it with any of our fabulous colour pallettes.  For the WOTG it is paired with smokey plum, whisper and slate.

These three cards are created with the Love Always  - Workshop on the Go.

The kit comes complete with an instructional brochure, purple sparkles, exclusive stamp set, ribbon, 15 white daisy cards & envelopes, and paper from the Love Always collection, all for only $29.95.  You will need smokey plum, black, whisper, and juniper inks, a corner rounder and foam tape that are not included in the kit.

I completed these three cards exactly as the instructional brochure outlines (with the small exception of some bitty sparkles to hide a stamping oops).

I'm going to design the next three a little differently to show a bit of a twist - still using all the items in the kit.

Stay tuned....

Oh my darlin' - Clementine

When I was in Dallas, Tx. in July 2012 for the CTMH Convention, my room mates & I stayed a few extra days and did some sightseeing around the area.  On our last day in Dallas we road tripped to the Fort Worth Stockyards.  Oh my, did we have a day full of fun, including a shoot out!!!!

Were you scared?  It wasn't a real shoot out - it was the Old West Shoot out.  Too much fun - these guys were a hoot and even if it was a bit corny was cute.

This layout is special thanks to a fellow consultant who designed it for her club ladies.  I adapted a bit (not much) for my layout.  The banners are chipboard covered with paper from Clementine paper package.  The cowboy hat and boots on the right page are from an exclusive stamp set that was given to everyone who attended Convention - a special treat.

My girlfriend Barb, quickly found her trusty stead and hopped on for a ride - never too old for some fun!!!

The right side of the layout features some of the characters from the "shoot out".  The sheriff with the 10 gallon hat, his deputy and the bad guys!!!

I hadn't used my burlap ribbon yet (gasp!) but I do like how it worked on this layout.  I highlighted with some buttons and hemp and a few antique brads.  Came together pretty cute.

Clementine is a very versatile paper package - not just for "girly" or flowery layouts.  It worked great for my Texas style layout.  Clementine is available in the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book, so grab your package (or 2) to make some great layouts.

I have more layouts from my Texas trip to show you coming up, including from the Book Depository tour, Billy Bobs and more.

Enjoy and get crafty!!!

Fun/Fancy Fold Card

Happy New Year - I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season.  Now, back to crafting!!!

One of the CTMH consultant facebook groups that I belong to posted a fun/fancy fold card challenge.  I don't usually participate in challenges - they stress me out too much, but it's a new year with new experiences to try so... I threw my hat (er card) into the ring.

I used the papers from La Belle Vie for my card.  The pinks/purples were a bit of challenge for me having boys but I decided to cut into this package.  The stamp is from a really old set called Birthday Wishes - I coloured in the images with my Copics and used foam tape to pop it off the base.
The ribbon is from my stash of organdy ribbon.  I'm going to be very sad when it's all used up.
Now for the fun/fancy part - the inside of the card - cute right.  With the assistance of a great tutorial I was able to get all my measurements and cutting to have the cake pop off the base.  The drips from the icing are with an eyelet punch and the sentiment is from the Birthday Wishes set.
I wanted to show a close up of the cake - the candles are topped with some clear glitter to give them added dimension.

This was a fun card to create, if a bit fiddly.  I'm thinking it would also work for a wedding or anniversary card.

Hope you enjoyed my fun/fancy fold card.  It was a joy to get back to crafting after a long absence.  I'll post pictures of my new craft space as soon as I get it cleaned back up!
